This Institution offers an MSEP discount.

Northwest Missouri State University welcomes students from MSEP states. In relation to Admissions requirements, Northwest is a moderately selective institution considering test scores and academic history. Students admitted from MSEP states who exhibit superior academic performance (see specific requirements below) will receive consideration for MSEP reduced tuition as a component of the overall scholarship program at Northwest. The University will advise students of their initial eligibility for MSEP reduced tuition as part of the Admission acceptance process and will be advised of their renewal eligibility as a part of the scholarship notification process; a separate application for MSEP is not required.

For undergraduate students there is an application priority deadline of May 1st to guarantee awards. Awards made after this date are subject to available funding.

Initial Awards:

  • First-time freshmen must meet ACT/SAT composite score and high school GPA requirements posted here - https://www.nwmissouri.edu/finaid/aid/scholarships/freshman.htm. MSEP-eligible students will receive the Bearcat Advantage tuition waiver.
  • Transfer students with 24 or more transferable credit hours completed must have a cumulative GPA in transfer of at least a 3.00 on a 4.00 scale. Students with fewer than 24 hours of completed college coursework will be eligible for MSEP if they meet the new freshman requirements listed above. (Students' high school transcript and ACT score report must be submitted.)

Renewal Criteria:

  • Undergraduate students must maintain a 3.0 Northwest cumulative GPA and complete 24 credit hours per academic year. The award will be given for a maximum of 132 total credits earned (including dual credit and transfer hours).

Baccalaureate

  • All programs are eligible for inclusion in the MSEP program.
