The University of Central Missouri has been designated as Missouri's leading professional technology institution. The University of Central Missouri is committed not only to providing a personalized higher education experience through a foundation in the liberal arts, but also to the utilization of academic technologies to enhance all of its educational programs.

The University of Central Missouri provides academic, pre-professional, professional and career-oriented undergraduate and graduate programs to meet the changing and technological needs of the nation's workforce and to prepare students to be lifelong learners, highly proficient in their fields of study.

To be considered for participation in University of Central Missouri's Midwest Student Exchange Program (and pay 150% of University of Central Missouri's regular resident tuition, plus all required fees), students must be legal residents of one of the participating states.

Criteria for entering freshmen students:

  • To be considered for the Midwest Student Exchange Program, an entering freshman must be admitted to University of Central Missouri by March 1 of his/her senior year of high school. The student's application for admission and high school transcript are reviewed to determine eligibility. There is no separate application.
  • An entering freshman must have an ACT superscore of at least 22 and rank in the top 25% of his/her high school graduating class (or at least 3.5 high school grade-point average).

Criteria for transfer students:

  • To be considered for the Midwest Student Exchange Program, a student transferring to the University of Central Missouri must be admitted by March 1 (for the following fall semester). The student's application for admission and transcript are reviewed to determine eligibility.
  • Transfer students must have earned at least 24 semester credit hours (with a cumulative transfer grade-point average of at least 3.5).

Status in the Midwest Student Exchange Program is automatically renewed for students who complete 12 or more credit hours each semester at University of Central Missouri, with a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.25 (entering freshmen may benefit for a maximum of 8 semesters; transfer students a maximum of 6 semesters).

Funding received from this program cannot be combined with non-resident programs, which cover non-resident fees.

The total number of Midwest Student Exchange Program participants is limited to 100. Current recipients receive priority consideration.
